About
Mary McRae
I use an integrative approach that draws from a variety of modalities, depending on which would be most effective for each client and situation. Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Relational tend to be the predominant ones. My goal is to guide clients to solve problems, reach goals, attain emotional health, improve relationships, and realize their potential. I have had extensive training related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. In order for any of that to be effective, however, the relationship between you and me needs to be one that you feel comfortable with. It takes courage to be vulnerable and share your story with me. I do not take that lightly. I will provide a safe haven for you as we work together to process what is distressing you. We will then work on skills for you to be best prepared moving forward.

Experience
I most recently worked with teens and their families in an alternative high school setting and children and their families in an elementary school as a School Based Outpatient Therapist. Prior to that, I was a Mental Health Counselor in an elementary school. I also previously worked in a county high school and elementary school in the counselors office.
